  1. What stores is Dixie Lily sold in? I live in Knoxville, Tennessee, would like to find a local store. thanks

    1. Sandra- sorry for the delay this message slipped through the cracks. Please check your local Kroger they should have Dixie Lily Corn Meal and Dixie Lily Grits. Thanks for reaching out.

    1. Thank you so much for contacting us. Corn is gluten free in nature, however, we cannot label our corn meal as gluten free because of the chance of trace cross contamination that could happen at any point as our product travels from the farm to your table. We are in the process of getting our stone ground corn meal certified gluten free but we have not completed that process as of yet. We appreciate your suggestion.

        1. Thank you so much for contacting us. Corn is gluten free in nature. However, the only corn based product that we sell that is certified gluten free are our yellow grits. Our stone ground white self-rising cornmeal is not certified because of the chance of trace cross contamination on the farm, storage facilities, packaging facilities or during transport to us, our packages or our suppliers. Our cornmeal is packed in a facility that does handle flour. The machines are cleaned before new product is run but again there is always a chance for cross contamination. We are working on a gluten free corn meal but we have not created it yet. We hope this information helps and we appreciate your business.

  2. Our recipe for cornbread doesn’t work well with this product, stone ground cornmeal.

Do you have a suggested recipe? Thought maybe it’s because it seems to be ground finer.

    1. Thank you so much for contacting us. We assume that your saying that your cornbread recipe is not working because it is too dense when you use our stone ground cornmeal. You are correct that stone ground cornmeal is finer than machine cut cornmeal. Because stone ground cornmeal is finer than machine cut cornmeal it will not rise as well as machine cut cornmeal. If you are looking for lighter and fluffier cornmeal then please try our Dixie Lily Self Rising Cornmeal with your cornbread recipe and let us know how it turns out. We appreciate your business and we hope this helps.

  3. What is the actual difference between this product and your Dixie Lily self rising white corn meal ? … I. E. taste, nutrition, price, texture, etc?

    1. Thank you for your question. The difference is that one is stone ground and one is steel cut. Stone ground corn meal is much finer than steel cut corn meal. Steel cut corn meal tends to rise better but will be a little more grainy. It is all about your personal preference. Try making corn meal or any other recipe that calls for corn meal with each product and see which one you like better. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your business and we hope this information helps.
